NOTE: Since the list of Mitel devices are automatically updated, if you have more Mitel devices configured on the MBG/SRC than you have Amethyst licenses, you will have a license overrun. The first extensions coming through will be loaded into AMETHYST. You will get an Amethyst error message for the overrun.
The default configuration of the MBG and SRC:
- New Phones are not enabled and will display "Please contact TW Admin"
- Connected phones are not configured for recording.
How do I configure my MBG/SRC to record?
The configuration is very similar between the MBG and the SRC.
- MBG (Mitel Border Gateway) - Most new installation

- Click the Configuration tab at the top of the page.
- Click the EDIT button at the bottom of the page.
- If you want all phones to be enabled by default when they are connect to the MBG, un-tick the Restrict Minet devices box.
- If you want all new connected phones to have recording enabled by default, tick the Call recording box.
- If you want support for 5550 Consoles (Which require a teleworker License), tick the IP Console Support box.
- If you want support for SIP devices, tick the SIP Support box.
- The rest of the settings you leave on the default values.
- Click SAVE to save these settings.
Per Mitel Device Setup:- Click Services tab at the top of the page.
- Click on the MiNet Devices link to get access to the detailed list of all the Minet devices that have been configured to work through this MBG.
- Find the Mitel device you want to modify and click the Modify link to the right of the device or the MAC address and then the EDIT button at the bottom of the screen.
- Tick the ENABLED box to enable or un-tick it to disable a phone.
- Change the Call recording drop down to USE MASTER SETTING to use the default value as configured above, ENABLED to record or DISABLED to not record the Mitel device.
- Leave all the other settings on default and click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page.
NOTE: If you also use SIP DEVICES, then USE MASTER SETTING will also apply to it. Therefore if Call recording is enabled, all SIP DEVICES added(as with MiNet Devices) will use a AMETHYST agent license.

MSL: How do I check if a device is connected? - Configuring phones to point to the MBG/SRC:
- How do I remove a recorded extension?
You need to change the configuration of the physical phone to point to the Mitel Controller, not the MBG/SRC. If this is not done first, the phone will try and register with the MBG/SRC again. Thereafter you can delete it from the MSL Device list. Check the above links how to get to the configuration.
With the new AmtMitelCRE if will then automatically remove it from the recorded list of phones and free the licenses.
On the older versions you will have to manually deactivate the Recorded Device list and there after remove it from the CRE configuration. - To show the usernames for the extension, you need to configure it on the Mitel Phone book:
