Archiving: How do I enter a domain name for a Windows Share?

Postby Belinda Frick » Fri Feb 08, 2013 8:21 am

I am using AMETHYST archiving to a Windows Share. We are using a domain.

Steps:

  • Log into AMETHYST webadmin.

  • Click on the 'Configure Archiving' link on the Home page.

  • Enter the domain name as part of the password.

After the password enter the following:
    Code: Select all
    ,domain=DomainName

    NOTE:

This must have the comma and
you must enter your actual domain name in place of DomainName.

  • Click on APPLY.
Checking if Windows Share is picked up by AMETHYST:

  • On the AMETHYST Home page, click on the 'Check Available Diskspace' to see if the archive location is picked up.

  • If you can see the archive location, you can start a unscheduled archive. Go to the HOME page and use the 'Archive now' link. It will show progress of the archive taking place. First step is to make a backup of the database and thereafter it will start to copy the recording files. The first process might take a while. You do not need to stay logged into AMETHYST webadmin.

You can also check the admin logs at a later stage to see if successfull - refer to forum post:
How do I know my archive/archiving was successfull?

If you need to download the log files to check see forum post: How to download logs from amethyst web admin.

If your mail settings is enabled you will also get a critical e-mail if it was unsuccessful.
To configure mail settings see forum post: AMETHYST and setup for e-mail

CORRECTION!!!!

The domain name must be entered as part of the user name and not password:

amt-windows-share_on_domain.jpg

after the user name enter a comma followed by the domain name:
Code: Select all
,domain=DomainName
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
