USBCLIENT does not record: recording does not stop

Postby Belinda Frick » Wed Nov 17, 2010 11:39 am

The recording is ended by:
TOPAZ end of call data or
SMDRLink
If no end of call data:
the call will end once the audio level has
dropped under the trigger level for more than 40 seconds.
If the audio level does not drop under the trigger level
for more than 40 seconds, then the call will never end.

If the soundcard is used by another application it can lock
the soundcard, and cause the USBClient to hang, and therefore
continue to record. This has been noted with Google Talk
and Aim. On XP and Vista machines it should allow a second
application to use the soundcard, thus not be affected.

Check the following:

Test the sound card:

Play a recording:
XP: Start -> My Music -> Sample Music -> Select a sample to
play test music
Make a recording with Windows Media player.
If you can make a recording and play it back, it must not
have noise/buzz on the recording.
ALSO SEE: I have a buzz noise on the
line when speaking on the phone.

Interferrence:

Any thing that causes a "noise" above the trigger level
will cause the recording to start and keep recording until end
of call data received or the audio level dropped for 40 seconds
under the trigger level set.
ALSO SEE: My recording has a buzz sound.

Anti-Virus software:

If the virus software is scanning the files it can cause
the application to 'hang'. This should happen when trying to
write to the ini file or writing the recording to disk. Some
virus software considers zlb file extension as a virus. The
USBClient saves the recording as a zlb.
