Accounts edit freeze

Postby aragon » Tue Jul 23, 2013 2:07 pm

Hi,

We're busy populating accounts into our TNG, and have managed to load about 40 accounts, but when adding more TNG freezes when we hit Apply in the accounts section. Sometimes if we do a browser reload when this happens the account list disappears and we have to start over!

TNG log below. Please help?

Thanks,
Aragon

Dear Aragon

As discussed telephonically I am unable to simulate your problem.
I was able to add more then 30 account codes.
My account codes varied with - in between like yours.
E.g. 454-854 and user identical.

Could you please confirm your browser version.

Kind Regards
John-Ri

Hi John,

I've tested now with Firefox 19 and Chrome 21 - same results with both.

I think you said you were testing on a later version of TNG. Are you able to test with the same version as ours, or should we rather upgrade our TNG and test again?

Thanks,
Aragon

We could not duplicate your issue. We tested with the latest version of TNG.

Please upgrade to see if it resolves the issue.

For latest version of TNG for Asterisk refer to section "4. Linux TNGLive for Asterisk(South Africa rates only)" in forum post: Last TNG releases for 2012

Hi,

I've now upgraded to 1.1.1.11, but the problem still persists. I've even tried wiping the account database and starting over - no help.

TNG log below. Please advise?

Re: Accounts edit freeze

Postby Belinda Frick » Wed Jul 24, 2013 1:57 pm

The log file does not show any entries that applies to the adding of account codes.

To help narrow down the problem we must just take a step back and confirm steps taken so far.

TNG for Asterisk has been upgraded to TNGLive 1.1.1.11.
The browsers in use are:
  • Firefox 19 and
  • Chrome 21
If you blank the account code file, please follow these steps as per post:
How do I blank the account codes?

To confirm that you are follow the correct procedure when adding account codes, please see forum post:
How do I add account codes?

We you navigate in TNG, please use the TNG options and not the browser navigation. TNG has checks build in to ensure information is save when moving between pages(as explained in trouble shooting section of forum post to add account codes).

When TNG freezes is it only when adding account codes or do you experience it while doing other actions?
Is there any issues that the Asterisk box is slow, etc.?

Have you only tried to add account codes from one PC using the 2 browsers or from another PC also? If so, do they have different operating systems and which is it?

That's how I've done it.

Only when adding account codes, and only after 30-40 have already been added (and applied).

None.

I've tried from two PCs. Linux and FreeBSD.

Thank you for the information.

Our testing was done with Firefox and Chrome running on Windows.

We will need to setup a test simulation running Firefox and Chrome on Linux to try to duplicate your query.

Hi,
Can you please add or PM the actual list of codes and descriptions that you are trying to add. We use our own test codes here, but it may be the actual codes or description that are causing the issue.

I see that the longest number used in our test was 11 digits and the Account Codes were all "test1", "Test2" , etc.

I have tried most of the punctuation and could not simulate it from Linux either.

Do you use any brackets in your descriptions?
