Postby mosi » Fri Nov 29, 2013 9:47 am

Sweeper fails to store recordings to the DB. It has to be manually stopped/started for it to work. then below error comes up on the Sweeper log file

Please attach the amtcards.log file for 2013-11-28.

You will find it on the Cardserver (Windows Server) in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Datatex\Amethyst\Logs\20131128

  1. The sweeper will stop after 10 consecutive errors.

I would suggest checking the admin log at 21h00(auto archive) and 00h00(auto purge) for database errors. You can also check the server and supervisor logs if any database errors.

If no errors, you can stop/start the sweeper and it will start to process the recordings after the one causing the error. If it stops again then I suggest to log a call out with us.

  2. I noticed something in the amtards.log file. It had the following entries:

    Code: Select all
[2013-11-28 07:18:20.179] Version [1.6.3.6] WARNING: Framer thread on Framer thread on board 1 will not be able to report alarms.
[2013-11-28 12:00:06.620] Version [1.6.3.6] WARNING: Framer thread on Framer thread on board 1 will not be able to report alarms.
[2013-11-28 14:29:16.849] Version [1.6.3.6] WARNING: Framer thread on Framer thread on board 1 will not be able to report alarms.
[2013-11-28 15:56:20.934] Version [1.6.3.6] WARNING: Framer thread on Framer thread on board 1 will not be able to report alarms.

You would have recieved a critical e-mail to the same affect. If the errors was cleared, it will sent log message that it is able to log alarms again.

Example of entry in admin log:
    Code: Select all
    [2012-04-25 16:21:11]  Version [1.6.4.2]******Critical Errors sent to genius@support.com *******
[2012-04-25 16:21:11]  Version [1.6.4.2]2012-04-25 16:21:08 2012-04-25 16:40:33 NOTICE: FRAMER THREAD ON FRAMER THREAD ON BOARD 0 IS ABLE TO REPORT ALARMS AGAIN.
    [2012-04-25 16:21:11]  Version [1.6.4.2]
    [2012-04-25 16:21:11]  Version [1.6.4.2]******End Critical Section*******

If you did not receive this message, I will suggest scheduling time to do a Windows Shutdown of the Cardserver and then power it up again. Please schedule outside recording hours.

This will ensure that errors for that recording card is logged.

The restart of the Cardserver(Windows) should not cause the archive errors.

Archiving is done from the AMETHYST server to either a USB drive connected to it or to a network location (NFS or Windows Share). The error indicates that you do not have enough space on the AMETHYST database drive to backup the database before archiving it to the archive location.

Please do a Available Disk Space.

It could be that your Exclusive drive is full, due to archiving being unsuccessful. Only recordings that has been archived will be purchase to clear space on the Exclusive drive.

If 1 GIG or less is free no the AMETHYST database drive, the ftp of recordings from the Cardserver will be stopped. Recordings will remain on the Cardserver until space available again on AMETHYST. Only once you run out of space on the Cardserver will you start to loose recordings.

I will suggest the call out as soon as possible.
