- The operating system:
- If the codec was not present or the wrong version
is used, no sound was streamed to the recording file created.
The recording can be searched for via Supervisor, it will show
call data details, but when you play the recording it will
have no duration and therefore not play back.
This can be fixed by installing the codecs or by uninstalling
and then re-installing the codecs, see My USBClient says recording,
but the GSM file in the DATA folder is not increasing in size
- It was also noted that if the Windows login for use with
USBClient did not have the proper access rights, the recording
would not be saved. The Windows login will for example have
right to create a file, but not modify it. It will then create
the GSM file, but cannot write the recording to the file.
This will then cause a 1KB file to be attached for the recording
details and processed like a successfull recording.
This can be fixed by giving the Windows login write access.
- USBClient versions earlier than 1.5.2.0:
Versions earlier than 1.5.2.0 created duplicate
reference numbers for recordings. This caused the call
to be processed to AMETHYST, but no recording file was
present for the call record. The recording can be searched
for via Supervisor, it will show call data details, but
when you play the recording it will not play back because
no recording file is present.
This was fixed in version 1.5.2.1,
Critical error: ... ArchiveRecording: Checksum failed ...
- USBClient versions 1.5.2.0:
The update version 1.5.2.0 created a second shortcut.
This will cause 2 USBClient to run on startup. The one
will record and the second will create a blank file (1KB -
no recording streamed to the file) which will be processed as a
'valid' recording. Once again, the recording can be searched for
via Supervisor, it will show call data details, but when you play
the recording it will have no duration and therefore not play back.
This can be fixed by removing the second shortcut in the startup.
It was fixed in the next release of USBClient.
- USBClient versions 1.5.2.1:
There was a problem with the update of version 1.5.2.1. The
install replaced the existing shortcut with one that had a blank
entry in the "start in" of the shortcut. This caused the recording
to be saved in the "Documents and Settings" folder of the windows
user only after the PC was rebooted or the user switched. This
recordings is then not updated to the AMETHYST server. Before the
PC reboot or user switch the recordings will be saved to the data
folder.
This can be fixed by:
adding the "start in" to the shortcut.
Close USBClient.
Copy the gsm and dt files to the start in location.
Open USBClient.
Therefore no recording is lost.
- It has been noted that some recordings cannot be played back.
The recording can be searched for and a recording file is present
with a duration and file size as per successfully processed recording,
but it will not play.
This recording file is corrupted.
Currently it is under investigation and will be addressed in a
future release of AMETHYST (after 1.5.2.1).
