Overview

Contact Support at
support@datatex.co.za
to get the newest version of the Remote Server

Software requirements

  • SMDRLink for Windows
  • Firebird Database
  • Amethyst Remote Server
  • IIS FTP Server

    SMDRLink for Windows

Install SMDRLink for Windows and send the call data to the Remote Amethyst computer.
The default port for smdr data is 27000.

    Firebird

Install Firebird on the same computer that Remote Amethyst will be running.
Just follow the prompts and "OK" everything.

    ***NOTE***

Install the SUPER SERVER and NOT CLASSIC SERVER.

    AMETHYST REMOTE SERVER

After installing the Remote Server the admin can be accessed by

    http://127.0.0.1:3088

    user: admin
    pass: admin

this can be changed in the webadmin.

Here it is possible to setup the cardserver, USBClients, FTP schedules, Cardserver and Extension
rules. Please keep in mind that the remote server has no Supervisor, Sweeper or licensing
functionality. It merely acts as a hub for the recording details and the recording solution,
while FTP'ing the calls to AMETHYST.

Licenses would still need to be added to the main AMETHYST.

    Installing IIS FTP Server

Refer to Installing IIS FTP Server

After installing the FTP server configure the path FTP path to

    C:\Program Files\Datatex\Amethyst\FTP\

The Remote Server FTP's the calls from the above location to the main AMETHYST server.

Post Installation Configuration

After installing all the software create an user called

    user : AMETHYST
    pass : AMT

with a password that never expires and user cannot change password parameters and make this user part of the Administrators group on the local pc. (This is purely for the FTP'ing of the calls to the path C:\Program Files\Datatex\Amethyst\FTP)

Click on Start > Run > control userpasswords2

Click on Advanced, and detick require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete,

It will prompt for an Automatic logon which will be the normal user account.

    Note:

The cardserver(AMTCards) should be uploading files from the
"Complete" folder to the local FTP server (Microsoft IIS FTP server usually).

Microsoft IIS FTP server should be dumping the files to the "FTP"
    folder.

The Remote Server will pick them up from there, modify them (adding the destination - if GetSet is used) and put them in the "Upload" folder.

When a file is modified, the Remote Server will print the following messages:

    Checking extension in aaa.dta.
Extension bbb in aaa.dta is in inclusive rules.
DESTINATION: Using destination "ddd" for number "ccc".
    Where:
    aaa is the Recording ID,
    bbb is the extension,
    ccc is the number and
    ddd is the destination.

Sample of amtserver log entries: destination found

    Code: Select all

    [2009-04-02 14:37:44] [Version 1.5.13.1]FTPThread: FTP not enabled

The Remote Server will upload files from the "Upload" folder to
the Amethyst server. If not found in Supervisor, check in sweeper or
    reject log why.

Refer to topic: Remote server: start service, Cannot open database NB!

Also when installing ftp create a windows user with the same credentials.
Test local ftp to the correct folder in order for remote server to ftp recordings.
Remember to Change the ID and server name to the relevant.

The amtcards will ftp locally in order for the remote service to add the prefix to the recording. Thereafter the remote server must ftp the recording directly through to the Amethyst server.
