Installation
Download the USBClient install from webadmin under Distributions.
NOTE: it must be version 1.6
Make sure the user has installation rights
Make sure there are no USBClient shortcuts in the startup
Start the USBClient installation by double clicking on the USBClient 1.6 Installation.
When prompted add the extension number.
There will be a pop up window asking to install INTEL IPP Libraries
Click on "OK"
Once that is done the service will start and the USBClient icon will
appear next to the clock display in the taskbar.
Configuration
- VAD mode:
Right click on the USBClient icon (it looks like purple headphones)
and click on "Teach"
You will be prompted to read a sequence of numbers out loud and into either
the headset or handset, depending on which you are using.
NB:Speak clearly and in your normal telephone voice directly into the microphone
This adjusts the trigger level to the loudness of your voice above the normal ambient noise. - CTI mode:
Recordings will be trigger and terminated by TAPI start/stop message. You USBClient PC must receive these message, else it will not trigger or stop recording.
Confirmation
Confirm that the USBClient shortcut is in the startup.
Start > Programs > Startup
Confirm that the USBClient service is allowed in the Firewall (if using Vista or XP SP20
Start > Control Panel > Firewall > Exceptions
Confirm the extension number as correct by making a [url][/url]test call and checking if
SMDR data is displaying.

Once your USBClients has been installed and/or upgraded to 1.6 you have the auto update feature. AMETHYST will distribute the USBClient update from the AMETHYST server over the network to the individual agent PCs - for newest version (as of 2013-06-14) refer to topic:
