Error writing to log file from the pabx3

Postby Belinda Frick » Tue Nov 23, 2010 12:02 pm

The PABX3 cannot find the file path to write the .pip file to.

In PABX3 check under OPTIONS > FILE PATHS
if the PABX DLL path is selected and followed by the plugin
"C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\profiles\lib"
and the PIP FILE path is selected and followed by pabx.pip
"C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\pabx.pip"
Enter the file paths, save it.
Also make sure that the filepath you enter exist on the PC!

If the pabx.prf file is damaged, we can create another
file with the default settings.
Close PABX3.
Rename the pabx.prf file to for example pabx.prf.today.
Copy the prf file in "C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\profiles"
to ""C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\" and rename to pabx.prf.

You might get an error "error writing to log file".
If so, unplug the serial cable and enter the file paths, now save it,
then plug the serial cable in
and check under [TOOLS -> VT100] if any data is comming in.

If you get data in VT100 and then the error message, then it
cannot write to the PABX.pip file in "C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3".

It could be that Windows is not seeing the file extension, see
SSL How to show hidden files in windows.

Ensure that you have rights to create the pabx.pip file and to
write to it.

Make sure you are using the correct port number.
How do I check for the port number to use?

Now to create the pabx.pip file, import the rawdata.txt:
How do I import rawdata.txt into Topaz?

Also See:
No rawdata.txt file is created.
