TNGLive Via Network, connection problems

Postby culrich » Tue Aug 20, 2013 10:44 am

Hi there

I am trying to get the TNGLive software to pull data from my PBX but it keeps givng me the following error:
2013-08-19 18:38:35:364 [1.1.0.5] - ConnectToNetworkPABX: Host[PBX_IP] Port[3030]Socket Error # 10060[13][10]Connection timed out.

The PBX is definately listening on port 3030 as I am able to use other services to fetch the data. But there are settings in TNG I am not sure about.

PBX = Avaya IPO 500 v2
= Set for SMDR on port 3030

TNG = on the same network subnet as the PBX
= Uploded attachement for config

If I restart the TNG service I get the following Log entries:
and I have tried enabling RAW logging.

Please upgrade to the latest version of TNGLive,

refer to forum post:
Latest update releases of TNG - as of 2013-08-01
NOTE: Use the first upgrade option if you have TNGLive Free for Windows.

If you still do not get call details from the network PABX, refer to forum post:
TNG and a network PABX

Thanks Belinda

I have the latest software as I only downloaded it about 3 days ago.

I have tried the Second link you sent but no luck.

Does the TNG software Listen on the port configured on the PBX or does it try and pull data from that port?
I have a feeling that it is not listening for the PBX.

I will try and reboot the PBX tonight after changing the ports to comething else and will give that a shot but don't think it will help.

Do you know of any implementaions where TNG live is setup and working in network mode on an AVAYA IPO 500?

Thanks
Carl

As suggested in the link,

when you stop the TNG service and connect to the PABX IP and port via telnet:

what is the result?

This will show us if outside TNG you are able to connect to the PABX and receive call details.
TNG must be on the same network as the PABX - you can also do a ping the PABX from the TNG PC.
If unsuccessful, you need to sort this out before you will be able to connect to receive call details.

Thanks Belinda

Thats why I was asking about the way TNG gets the data.
I am able to Ping the PBX but I am unable to Telnet the PBX on the port I specified.

What I don't get is that it works fine if there is a Service listening on the PBX SMDR port.

The only settings I have available on the PBX is IP address, TCP port and records to buffer.

Let me know if there is anything else I can try?

  1. Please use the Datatex Linker program to receive call details from the port the PABX is sending to.

  2. You then configure TNG to connect to the IP of the PC the Linker service runs on and the port you configured in the Linker program. The Linker program thus simulating the PABX for TNG to connect to.

For install file and install steps see forum post:
How do I install the Linker service?

Hi Belinda

Thanks for that, I have managed to get it working.
FYI to anyone using an Avaya IPO 500 that is battling. On the Avaya SMDR settings leave the IP Address as 0.0.0.0

Belinda, I have a problem now with the call data being recorded. It is recording the numbers being called with out the 0 in front, so if you dial a Cell number of 072X it picks up as 72X and says its in Russia.

Is this a TNG setting or a PBX setting?

Thanks
Carl

To investigate why the leading zeroes is not displayed, I need the following to setup a simulation:

  1. Plugin name:
How do I check my plugin name and version in TNG?

  2. raw.txt file
How do I enable logging of rawdata?

Hi Belinda

The Version of plugin is 2011.01.07.1, and raw data logging is on but nothing is being logged to the logs folder.
I have tried turning it off and back on still no luck.

If you have call details on the call list page and log rawdata is set to permanent, it must log 'raw.txt'. Please check in the logs folder for the day if you have a 'raw.txt' file.

Also check that you are running TNG version 1.1.1.11

If you have no call details on the TNG Call List page since you enabled permanent logging of raw data, then this is the problem. Check why no data is logged to the Call List page.
